Work Training
Programs, Inc. (established in 1964) is a premiere human
service agency located across southern and south coastal California,
and a proud partner in the City of Burbank’s WorkForce Connection.
WTP services are offered to people with developmental disabilities,
mental illness and people in economic need through person-centered
planning and individualized service delivery. WTP is a private,
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Our
mission is “to provide independent living and employment support
services that enable individuals with disabilities or disadvantages
to live and work as productive members of their community.” WTP has
been successful at helping people to become contributing members of
our communities: our job development staff placed 173 people with
disabilities and disadvantages into jobs in one year. Since 1989,
WTP’s work services have received the highest rating of excellence
by CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission).
Services in Burbank include both individual and
group supported employment, along with job placement services that
are funded by the Department of Rehabilitation. All in all, WTP
serves over 1400 clients who are living and working and recreating
across four counties. WTP’s wide array of services ranges from
building social skills, vocational skills, and independent living
skills to providing the supports necessary to maintain true personal
independence for a lifetime.
